The difference between the McCall curette and the new Langer curette is the bending of the tips. The bending allows a much better access into premolar and molar regions which are difficult to access. Often there are hard deposits which are not easy to remove.
Unlike the Gracey Curettes, Universal curettes have two working surfaces or cutting edges therefore concretions on the cervix as well as
inflamed tissue in the pocket can be removed in one step at the same time.
